She proceeded to steal second and third, putting herself in a great position to score, which she did following a double to the left side. The Lions added their second run shortly after with a single to take a two-run lead.
Millersville attempted to respond in the bottom of the first as Cecilia McBeth and Lexi Pickett both reached base. Following a passed ball, both runners advanced into scoring position, but a strikeout ended the inning before the Marauders could score.
The bottom of the second is where Millersville took the lead. Allyson Black reached base with a double, and Ellie Soucy followed with a walk to put two runners on. Hailey Watlington joined them on the bases, making it an all-senior combination. Jocelyn Langer brought in the first run with a sacrifice fly to right field to score Black and move both runners up. McBeth then gave the Marauders the lead with a two-RBI triple, making it 3-2 after the second inning.
The third inning went quietly before action picked back up in the bottom of the fourth. McBeth recorded her third hit of the day with a double to the right side. Pickett capitalized with a two-run home run to left field, extending the lead to three runs.

The Marauders scored their final two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Langer and Pickett both reached base to start the inning before Ava Bainbridge delivered an RBI single to score Langer. Makenna Balay followed with a single to load the bases, giving Mazzucco the opportunity to drive in another run with a single that scored Pickett from third and gave Millersville an 8-2 lead.

"Pitchers were hitting spots today." Said head coach Jen Probst. "We also tried to throw some pitches and series that needed improvement, so we could fine tune before conference play."
GAME 2: 12-3 (VILLE)
Ava Nelson got the start for game two and made quick work of the Lions, retiring the side in order. This gave Millersville the opportunity to attack early offensively, which they took full advantage of. Carly Vaughan and Mazzucco both reached base to load the bases for the Marauders. Bainbridge once again came through with a single to give Millersville a three-run lead after one inning.
The Lions tied the game in the top of the second following a pair of singles to start the inning. A third single brought in their first run, and a groundout in the following at-bat pushed the second run across. Lincoln tied the game shortly after with another single, making it a 3-3 ballgame.
Millersville responded in the bottom half of the inning as Langer once again drew a walk, allowing Pickett to hit another double and score her to give Millersville a one-run lead.
The Marauders broke the game open in the bottom of the third inning. Bainbridge and Emilee Slotcavage both reached base, giving Bryn O'Connor the opportunity to capitalize. She delivered a single to center field to score the fifth run of the game. Langer followed with a double to right field, scoring both Slotcavage and O'Connor. McBeth made it back-to-back doubles as she drove a ball to center field, extending the lead to five runs. Pickett then joined McBeth on base with a single, setting up Vaughan to hit a three-run home run to center field and push Millersville's total to 11 runs.
Rebecca Opperman came in relief for Millersville and quickly worked through the fourth inning.
The bats were not finished in the bottom of the fourth as Slotcavage hit a solo home run, the first of her collegiate career.
"Our team is passing the bat and staying positive regardless of results." Said Probst. "The offense is a full team effort. We have had great success all season with players subbing in and having competitive at bats. Was really happy to see Emilee square up her first collegiate home run."
Opperman closed out the game by recording three straight outs, giving Millersville the sweep on the day. Nelson earned her first career victory as a Marauder, and Pickett led the offense with four hits and two RBIs.
The Marauders return to action next Wednesday for a makeup game against Chestnut Hill with a 1 p.m. start.
