MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Two Millersville University softball pitchers stole the show by striking out a total of 16 batters in a doubleheader sweep of East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon at Seaber Softball Stadium.
Brianna White struck out 11 batters in game two while
Catherine Johnson had five in the opener. The duo combined to allow just seven hits.
The Marauders ended their four-game losing streak and improve to 20-25 (3-7 PSAC East). The Warriors' four-game winning streak came to an end today as they dropped to 21-19 (4-6 PSAC East).
Faith Willenbrock had two home runs in the doubleheader while
Brianna Battavio hit a three-run home run in game two.
GAME ONE RECAP (MILLERSVILLE 8, EAST STROUDSBURG 0 (5 inn.))
• The Marauders jumped to a 3-0 lead off a
Rebecca Blatt double and a Willenbrock two-run RBI single in the third.
• In the fourth,
Hunter Little scored on a shortstop error.
Brianna Battavio followed with an RBI single. Willenbrock finished out the inning with a two-run home run, making it 8-0 and clinching the game one victory.

Devan Masciulli had two hits each. Willenbrock totaled four RBIs.
GAME TWO RECAP (MILLERSVILLE 6, EAST STROUDSBURG 2)
• Trailing 2-1 in the fifth, the Marauders exploded for five runs.
Alexis Staniec began the scoring when she ran home from third on a shortstop error, tying the score. Later in the inning, the Marauders received back-to-back home runs from
Brianna Battavio and Willenbrock.
• White posted a season-high 11 strikeouts while allowing two runs and seven hits.
• Staniec led the lineup with two hits.
