Millersville, Pa. — The Millersville softball team, in conjunction with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, will hold a food drive on Saturday, April 4, as the team hosts a doubleheader with Clarion University.
Millersville softball is encouraging fans to come out and support the team, while helping with hunger relief. The Central PA Food Bank will have collection boxes on site at the Millersville University Softball Field the day of the games.
The Central PA Food Bank is looking for non-perishable items such as:
The Department of Health requires that all cans have labels and that packaged goods must be factory-sealed, in good condition, without rust or severe dents. Also, health laws prohibit the distribution of home-canned or home-packaged foods.
The Central PA Food Bank distributes more than 15 million pounds of food and grocery products every year to more than 500 soup kitchens, shelters, and food pantries in 27 central Pennsylvania counties. These agencies directly feed thousands of hungry families throughout central Pennsylvania.
First pitch of the doubleheader with Clarion is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. For more information on the Central PA Food Bank and donating, visit the organization's website by clicking here.
