2015 marked Don Berry's third season with the Millersville softball coaching staff and seond as the full-time assistant to head coach, Kathy Cummings. In 2015, Berry helped K.C. lead the Marauders to an overall record of 21-24 including a mark of 11-17 in PSAC East play for the second-straight season. With Berry on the staff, the team completed a four-game sweep of Shippensburg including home scores of 4-1 and 6-2 before road victories that included finals of 7-0 and 2-1. The 2015 edition of the Marauders tallied a season-high four-game winning streak from April 15 through April 17 over Shepherd (3-2, 2-0) and the away portion of the Shippensburg season series (7-0, 2-1). The 2015 team also tied the program record for home runs in a season with 22 that was set in 2006.
Berry finished his second season as a member of the Millersville softball coaching staff in 2014 and his first as a full-time assistant to head coach Kathy Cummings. He worked as a volunteer assistant for the 2013 season. In 2014, he helped lead the Marauders to a 23-25 finish that included a 2-1 win over No. 22 ranked West Virginia Wesleyan as part of its tournament on March 16 as well as a home sweep over West Chester (1-0, 4-0) on April 18. With Berry as a part of the coaching staff, the program won its 500th game against Chowan on Feb. 23 with a score of 4-2 at the Shaw Challenge.
Prior to Millersville, Berry coached softball for over 15 years, most recently for the 18U East Norriton Heartbreakers travel team. From 2008-2012, he helped lead the Heartbreakers to an Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) Pennsylvania State Championship and three ASA Eastern National Championships. Berry also played baseball all the way through high school and collegiately at West Chester University.
