Marauders suffer first conference loss against East Stroudsburg

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Marauders suffered their first conference loss of the season Saturday afternoon, falling to East Stroudsburg, 1-0.
The Warriors jumped ahead early and never relinquished the lead. A ball played across the top of the 18-yard box found an East Stroudsburg player, who fired a shot into the top-right corner at the 5:21 mark.
Millersville struggled to build momentum throughout the match and could not find a response to the Warriors' goal.
The Marauders came out with more momentum in the second half, but their shots could not find the back of the net. Millersville outshot East Stroudsburg 6-1 in the second half, but it was not enough as the Marauders fell, 1-0.
"I thought we were a bit too passive in the first half and never hit our top gear." said head coach Steve Widdowson.  "In the second half we did much better but still let ourselves down with our end product and focus on details. We created plenty of opportunities but failed to make the most of them, and we have to be more efficient in that area on a more consistent basis."
Millersville will return to action next Wednesday when they welcome in Georgian Court.
