
Angelo named PSAC East Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Aleese Angelo was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Athlete of the Week on Monday following a stellar performance from the plate last week.
Angelo led the Marauder offense in a 4-2 week, going 10-for-16 (.625) from the plate and totaling 11 RBI's, 10 runs, three homeruns, two doubles, one triple and three walks. The junior's biggest game of the week came in a win over Mansfield on Friday when she went 3-for-3 with seven RBI's, a pair of doubles and a long ball. Angelo was perfect from the plate in both legs of Wednesday's doubleheader against Bowie State -- she went 3-for-3 with two runs, a triple and three RBI's in game one before a 2-for-2 performance in the second game that saw her cross home three times.
The Aurora, Ohio native ranks top-10 in the PSAC in virtually every offensive category and ranks towards the top of all NCAA Division II batters in a few categories as well. She currently leads the conference in doubles with 18 and ranks No. 2 in slugging percentage (.787), OPS (1.280), and RBI's (43). In addition, she ranks No. 6 in batting average (.418) and on-base percentage (.493), No. 7 in hits (51) and No. 8 in homeruns (7). Angelo is also tied for eighth in walks this season with 19. In the NCAA's current leaderboards, Angelo is tied for the seventh-most doubles in the nation and ranks tied at No. 6 in doubles per-game (.44).
Millersville currently sits at No. 5 in the PSAC East standings with a 10-10 conference record. The team will look to climb over .500 on Tuesday, April 18 when East Stroudsburg comes to town.
