LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Millersville Marauders were swept in their doubleheader against Georgian Court, falling 6-2 in game one and 7-4 in game two. The Marauders (7-9) have played all 16 games this season on the road, with 11 contests coming at neutral site venues.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: Georgian Court 6 – Millersville 2
- Millersville jumped ahead 1-0 in the top of the first, as Gabby D'Ottavio was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and no one out. Millersville would fail to capitalize on the early opportunity, as the Lions would work out of the jam without allowing further damage.
- Georgian Court took the lead in the bottom of the first, scoring two runs off of Marauder started Alex Schaefer. The Lions would lead for the rest of the game.
- Trailing 3-1 in the fifth, Millersville would plate its second run. D'Ottavio connected on an RBI single, driving in Aleese Angelo and cutting the deficit to one.
- The Lions would again respond, adding three runs in the bottom of the frame, going ahead 7-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Schaefer fell to 3-4 on the season as she took the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) over 4 1/3 innings of work, striking out three batters while walking none.
- The Lions outhit the Marauders 12 to four.
- Breanna Clayton, Angelo, D'Ottavio, and Gabi Turner all had hits for Millersville.
- Morgan Crutcher threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.Â
GAME TWO: Georgian Court 7 – Millersville 4
- The Lions struck first in game two, scoring a run in the bottom of the first off of Crutcher, who allowed four runs in 1+ innings of work as the game two starter, after a scoreless relief outing in game one.
- Millersville briefly took the lead in the top of the second on a two-run single from Angelo. The lead wouldn't last as the Lions scored four runs in the bottom of the frame, taking the lead for good, as Georgian Court went ahead 5-2 after two innings of play.
- Hunter Little blasted a solo home run in the third as she cut the deficit to two.
- Mia Barone had a quality relief outing, allowing two runs to score over five strong innings of work as she picked up four strikeouts. The outing was her longest of the season.
- The Marauders would threaten throughout the game but could not find the big inning to complete the comeback.Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Crutcher fell to 2-4 on the season with the loss.
- The Lions outhit the Marauders 12 to seven.
- Sam Fried led Millersville with two hits.
- Little leads the Marauders in batting average (.385) home runs (4) runs (15) and OBP (.607) as the senior continued her strong start to the season.

On the relief outing by Barone: "Mia brings a ton of energy to the circle. She was connecting with her fielders and mixed pitches well. She was poised throughout her innings regardless of the situation."
