Erie, Pa. – The freshman duo of Anthony Calamia and Nathan Erb scored two goals each for Millersville en route to a 4-3 victory over Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon. Millersville tied its season-high for goals in a game.

The Marauders improved their record to 5-3-4 (3-2-1 PSAC) while the Lakers moved to 5-4-2 and 2-2-2 in conference play.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• In the 74th minute, a foul was called on Mercyhurst. That put Calamia 20 yards out with a free kick opportunity. Calamia fired a shot over the defensive line that tipped off the goalkeepers' fingers and found the back of the net to break a 3-3 tie.
• Millersville led 3-1 until the 59th minute when the Lakers responded with two goals in a span of 10 minutes, tying the game.
• In the 51st minute, a Jaxson Burns' through ball down the line found freshman Spencer Shortt. Shortt drove the ball to the end line and put a low cross into the box for Erb, who flicked it just inside of the near post.
• In the 43rd minute, Millersville's Matt Liotta picked up a loose ball on the right side. He drove through two defenders then ripped a low pass to Erb. Erb followed up and scored the ball from six yards away. That goal put the Marauders up 2-1.
• The scoring started in the 25th minute when Hady Sarr of Mercyhurst scored. The first goal for the Marauders came from Calamia . He played a give-and-go with senior Chase Flickinger and fired the ball from 15 yards out into the back of the net. Calamia equalized the score at 1-1 in the 35th minute.

• "Anthony Calamia has been playing well the last few games, and today it was great to see him get some goals to reward his solid performances. He's a talented player that struggled with the adjustment to college playing but he kept working hard. We are now seeing what he is capable of. To be honest, Nate Erb's performance was long overdue. He showed what he is capable of today, and the threat he can bring. As we talked about after the game as a team, he along with some other players now need to have that type of performance on a daily basis and make it his usual level, not the occasional level."
• "I think [after Mercyhurst's third goal], there was a collective determination and belief to fight back and find another goal. I think everyone is extremely thrilled that today that the attack stepped up and won the game for us. That's been lacking too often this season, so today everyone is relieved and thankful that our attacking players performed at a level we know they are capable of."
• "[At halftime], we were really pleased with the lift the bench gave us and that the game wasn't over. We discussed a few tactical things and make sure everyone was ready to go for a tough 45 minutes as it provided to be."

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
• Shortt recorded a team-high four shots with three on net.
• Erb and Calamia posted their first goals and points of their collegiate career. Erb and Calamia had three shots each.
• Goalkeeper Darian McCauley saved four shots.
• Liotta recorded the assist in the second goal, his first point as a Marauder.

NOTES
• This match was the only time this season that the Marauders allowed three goals and won.
• The Marauders had the advantage in offense in the first half, outshooting the Lakers, 13-6. Millersville finished the game with 17 shots.
• Millersville earned its sixth all-time and second-consecutive victory over Mercyhurst.
