Millersville, Pa. - Military Appreciation Day is set for Saturday, April 4 as the Millersville baseball team welcomes Bloomsburg to The Coop for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. and softball plays host to Lock Haven for a twinbill starting at 1 p.m.
The baseball team will once again wear its camouflage hats, the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is presenting the colors before first pitch and t-shirts will be sold with all proceeds directly benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warrior Project was founded in 2003 and its purpose is built with three parts. Those three parts are to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
At the Millersville Softball Field, the girls will be wearing camo ribbons and a ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by sophomore left fielder Heather Lutz's grandfather, Dave Lutz, who is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
