GAME OVERVIEW
· Millersville and East Stroudsburg come into Tuesday's matchup needing a victory to keep their respective playoff hopes alive. Millersville currently owns a 3-8-1 overall record and are 2-3 in PSAC action. In their last match the Marauders put together its most complete performance shutting out Shippensburg, 1-0. The Raiders weren't able to get much going inside the Millersville defensive third, and when they did keeper Kohl Orner was there to make easy saves.
· East Stroudsburg is looking to get back on track after it suffered its worst defeat of 2014, losing 6-2 to Goldey-Beacom. The Warriors went down 3-0 on goals in the sixth, 15th and 47th minutes. Sophomore midfielder Austin Bogart scored his first career goals, but Goldey-Beacom struck again for three more goals in the final 12 minutes. The Warriors were caught out of position late in the second half as two of Goldey-Beacom's final three goals came on penalty kicks.
SERIES HISTORY
· Millersville's recent success in past years has seen the squad win three-straight matches against East Stroudsburg. In last season's affair, three different players scored for the Marauders as they topped the Warriors, 3-0. The victory also marked the men's soccer program's 400th win. The Black & Gold program began in 1960 and has seen five coaches at the helm of the program over the past 43 years. Current head coach Steve Widdowson has been the most successful to date, as he's responsible for 96 wins.
GOALS AT A PREMIUM
· Ever since making the switch to Kohl Orner in between the pipes on Oct. 4, the Marauders have surrendered one goal in the past 180 minutes. The redshirt junior has been a calming presence in net, correctly barking orders while lining up the defenders in front of him. In the match against Shippensburg, Orner earned the first shutout and win of his career. The Lancaster, Pa. native faced 15 shots and made three decisive saves against the Raiders.
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
· East Stroudsburg doesn't posses the type of offensive firepower that many other PSAC rivals do. The Warriors have seen most of their offense come from three players: Andrew McGinley, Jonathan Stuppe, and Christian Bukowski. McGinley has proven to be the most dangerous leading the team in points (7), goals (3) and shots (25). But the sophomore midfielder has been held in check lately and hasn't registered a point since Sept. 27.
