Softball Cancelled For Rest of Weekend

Raleigh, N.C. - All the rest of the Marauders games for this weekend have been cancelled. After a light snowstorm hit Raleigh, N.C. overnight Friday into Saturday, the fields on which the Shaw University Invitational Tournament were being hosted took on too much snow. Because of the snowfall play cannot be resumed.

The Marauders were scheduled to have three more games to play when the rest of the games were cancelled for the rest of the weekend. On Saturday, a pair of games against Concord and Alderson-Broaddus were on the docket before Sunday's finale against Seton Hill. The Saturday games had previously been postponed.

Millersville was 1-1 in the first day of the tournament before play was cancelled. The team opened its season with a 3-1 loss to Glenville State College before recovering on the second end of back-to-back games. That victory in the second contest of the year came against Shepherd, 13-1. The Marauders now have a two week break for their next set of games, a Mar. 4 doubleheader at Bowie State. The first game of that twinbill begins at 1 p.m.
