The Marauders (6-1) remain undefeated against Lincoln (0-6) and have now won 12-straight games as participants in the Carol Eckman Memorial Classic, hosted by West Chester.
Notching the first basket of the game, Millersville held Lincoln scoreless for the first three minutes and never surrendered the lead. Immediately extending the lead to 21 to open the second half, Millersville never let the Lions come closer than 19 points. The Marauders even held a 26-point advantage midway through the period and Lincoln could not provide an answer.
Millersville saw several firsts throughout the contest as Head Coach Mary Fleig emptied her bench and played every member of her youthful squad. Seeing action in only her third career game, junior Brittney Gunn registered her first points as a Marauder and put up a game-high 11 on the day.
Raquel Flemings and Reina Hill also saw their first minutes of the season. Flemings chipped in three points on the day while pulling down four rebounds, and Hill added a three-pointer marking her first career points. Making her first appearance in Black and Gold, freshman Alexis Martin put on an impressive defensive showing with six rebounds, one block and one steal.
Shooting hot from the floor all day, including going 2-for-3 from behind the arc, Waters tallied 10 points in just 13 minutes of action.
As a whole Millersville out-rebounded Lincoln 51-34 and held the Lions to a 31.4 percent shooting performance, as well as going 1-for-11 from behind the three point line.
With the win Fleig sits just one victory shy of a career total 500.
After wrapping up three games in four days, Millersville takes a break until after the holidays when it hosts non-conference Merrimack on Thursday, Dec. 30. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m., in Pucillo Gymnasium.
