MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Jennifer Smith has named former PSAC standout player and Lock Haven assistant Kiera Baughman as assistant coach of the Millersville University women's basketball program.
Smith, entering her first season at Millersville, coached side-by-side with Baughman in 2025-26, leading Lock Haven to a third consecutive PSAC East title. Baughman, a Lancaster County native, played the 2024-25 season under Smith, earning All-PSAC East First Team honors and CSC Academic All-District recognition while averaging 14.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Baughman served as a team captain and helped Lock Haven to a PSAC East title. Baughman started her playing career at IUP where she was the program's freshman of the year in 2021-22 and an All-PSAC West First Team selection in 2023. Baughman scored over 1,000 career points. She has recently continued her playing career as a professional with Klubi Sportiv Tirana in Albania.
"I am beyond excited to have Kiera join me in this new era at Millersville," said Smith. "Kiera had a standout playing career at Donegal High School, IUP and Lock Haven University. She also was very successful playing professionally overseas. She has a very high basketball IQ and is strong in player development. I believe having a staff with local ties will help energize our fan base. Kiera is one of the best young rising coaches in the game and we are thrilled to have her wear the Black and Gold."
Baughman's playing and coaching roots are in Central Pennsylvania. Before serving as Smith's assistant at Lock Haven, Baughman coached the Lady Raiders, an AAU team with players from York, Lancaster and Dauphin counties. She also conducted private coaching lessons for youth and high school players at Spooky Nook Sports Complex.
She earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from IUP in 2024 and a master's degree in business administration from Lock Haven in 2025.
