EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. --- After going into the fourth quarter down five, great execution from the free throw line and timely buckets lifted the No. 6 Marauders past the No. 3-seeded East Stroudsburg. The Marauders connected on 13 of 15 free throws in the fourth, generating more than half of their 19 fourth-quarter points from the line, the most important of them all being a clutch three-point play to swing the score in the Marauders' favor from Daniella Ranieli.
The Marauders kept things even in the first half, shooting 40.6 from the field. Despite their last performance visiting East Stroudsburg, the Marauders had the Warriors on their heels with a tie game going into the half.
Coming out of the halftime break, East Stroudsburg partnered some poor shooting from the Marauders with a streak of their own to take the lead by five going into the fourth quarter. Despite the deficit, the Marauders relied on strong defensive effort and execution from the line to pull out a win over the No. 3-seeded Warriors. Daniella Ranielli exploded for 10 points in the fourth quarter and stepped up when it mattered most for the Marauders. The most important bucket of the game was hit by Ranielli herself as she was attacking the rim and finished an and-one opportunity with 54 seconds left to go to take the lead by one.
After Ranielli's clutch basket, and only up one point, the Marauders were desperate for a stop while the Warriors looked to take the go-ahead bucket. As the Warriors started their play, a loose ball found its way to the top of the key, where once again, Daniella Ranielli stepped up. Ranielli generated the steal and drew a foul that sparked a 7-5 run for the Marauders and ultimately the victory.
