Joel Schreiner began his time as a volunteer assistant for the softball team in the Fall of 2024 and enters his first season with Millersville in 2025. 

Schreiner has been coaching softball at the travel and high school levels for the last 15 years and has more than 600 career victories. He was the head varsity coach for six seasons at Lower Dauphin High School, where he led the Falcons to a Mid-Penn Championship, three District III playoff appearances and two PIAA State Playoff berths. Prior to his time at Lower Dauphin, Schreiner spent three years at Hempfield High School where he served as an assistant varsity coach and head JV coach; there, he helped guide the Black Knights to a Lancaster-Lebanon League championship. 

Born and raised in Lancaster, Schreiner and his wife Karen have two daughters. His youngest, Marli, was a member of the Millersville softball team from 2020-24 before becoming a volunteer assistant on the Marauders' softball staff after graduation.
