GAME STORYLINES
- Millersville returns to the PSAC semifinals for the first time since 2021, when the Marauders finished as the tournament runner-up to Bloomsburg. In their return, Millersville faces Kutztown, a team the Marauders have gone 0-1-1 against this season. The last time the Marauders met the Golden Bears in the PSAC Tournament was in the 2021 quarterfinals, where Millersville advanced on penalty kicks.
- Aubrey Strohecker continues to lead Millersville’s offense, as demonstrated by her two-goal performance against No. 25 Slippery Rock. The effort increased her season total to 13 goals. Lia Francis and Isabel Coy also contributed in Tuesday’s match, each recording a goal and an assist. The three All-PSAC East selections will look to guide the Marauders back to the championship game.
- Sabrina Zimmerman recorded her fourth shutout of the season in Tuesday’s match. The senior made just her second appearance since sustaining a hand injury in October that sidelined her for several weeks. She will continue working with a Marauder backline led by Melanie Love and Olivia Stone to limit opponents’ shots on goal.
- Kutztown enters the semifinal on a four-match winning streak. The Golden Bears are on familiar ground, as they were in the same position last season while attempting to advance to the championship match. Although Kutztown fell to Shepherd in last year’s title game, they remain determined to claim the PSAC championship this season. First, however, they must get past Millersville.
- The Golden Bears’ offense is led by Corrine Morgan, who recorded a hat trick in the team’s 5–1 victory over IUP. Morgan ranks fifth in the PSAC with 11 goals, leading Kutztown in scoring. Caroline McDonald and Maura Day are also key players to watch in Friday’s match. McDonald ranks second on the team with six goals and five assists, while Day leads the team with nine assists, placing her second overall in the PSAC.
- Morgan O’Donnell will be in goal for Kutztown in the semifinal match. The junior enters with 12 wins and six shutouts, ranking second in the PSAC. She also ranks second in the conference in saves and third in goals-against average. Millersville has scored only one goal against her this season, making a strong start from the Marauder offense especially important.
- The winner of Friday's match will advance to the championship, where they’ll face either West Chester or Shepherd on Sunday at 1 p.m.
SERIES HISTORY
- Millersville and Kutztown have met regularly since 1994, with their most recent matchup on Oct. 15 ending in a 0–0 draw. Historically, Millersville has struggled in the series, winning just 11 of the 42 contests. The Marauders’ most recent victories came in 2019, when they swept the Golden Bears.
