Strohecker hat trick leads Marauders to dominant season-opening win

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Marauders opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion Thursday, cruising to a 4-0 victory over Lock Haven behind a hat trick from senior Aubrey Strohecker.
It didn't take long for Millersville to strike first, as Strohecker put a touch on a shot from Ashlyn Calabria to find the back of the net just 58 seconds into the contest.
The Marauders struck again 12 minutes later when Calabria stole the ball and found the top-right corner to extend the Millersville lead to 2-0.
At the midway point of the first half, Strohecker stole the ball from a Lock Haven defender and dribbled into the box before placing another shot into the back of the net, giving the Marauders a 3-0 advantage. Millersville outshot Lock Haven 9-1 in the opening half.
The Marauders carried the momentum into the second half. Strohecker attacked the box once again before cutting toward the 18-yard line and placing another shot on goal to complete her hat trick.
With 11 minutes remaining, play came to a halt due to lightning in the area. After consultation, both teams mutually agreed to conclude the contest, giving the Marauders a 4-0 victory.

What allowed you to dictate the game the way you did? - "Once we settled down and got organized, we were able to better dictate the game and control the tempo. The goals obviously helped us to settle in and keep putting them under pressure."
