WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Millersville women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against No. 3 West Chester on Wednesday afternoon after the Golden Rams scored a late equalizer in the final minutes of regulation.

The Marauders showed no signs of being intimidated by the third ranked Golden Rams, striking first in the sixth minute. Brook Balliet found senior Aubrey Strohecker, who finished the opportunity to give Millersville an early 1-0 lead. The goal marked Strohecker's 11th of the season and extended her scoring streak to five consecutive matches.

West Chester responded with consistent offensive pressure, putting the Millersville defense to work throughout the contest. The Marauders held their ground and limited the Golden Rams' opportunities, with freshman goalkeeper Megan Taltavull making four saves to keep West Chester off the scoreboard.

Millersville carried its lead into the final minutes before West Chester found the equalizer. Following a throw in, the Golden Rams quickly turned the opportunity into a goal that found the upper left corner, tying the match at 1-1 with less than five minutes remaining.

Neither team was able to find a game-winning goal, resulting in a 1-1 draw. With the result, the Marauders now sit second in the PSAC East standings. Millersville returns to action next Wednesday when it hosts Shepherd, which currently sits atop the PSAC East standings.
