Shippensburg, Pennsylvania - Aunjel Van Brakle led Millersville with 18 points but no other Marauder scored more than eight points as Shippensburg dominated Millersville 76-46 Tuesday. The Raiders outscored the Marauders 45-23 in the second half and cruised to the victory.
Shippensburg outrebounded Millersville 32-22 and dominated the paint to the tune of 44-26. Both teams turned the ball over 13 times but the Raiders scored eight more points off turnovers than the Marauders. Alayah Hall scored eight points and Celeste Robinson managed just six after exploding for 28 Friday against Mansfield.
Robinson began the scoring, registering the first four points of the game for Millersville. With score tied at 4-4, the Raiders would double up the Marauders and take an 8-4 lead. Shippensburg would push the lead to six before the Marauders would battle back, going on a 9-2 run and taking a two point lead.
Shippensburg would respond by scoring five unanswered points. With the score knotted up at 23, the Raiders would begin to take control of the game and jump out to a 31-23 lead and take that advantage into half.
The Marauders would score the first four points of the half to cut the deficit to four, but a Colleen Young three-pointer killed the momentum of Millersville. The Raiders would add six more points to extend their advantage to 13. Aunjel Van Brakle would hit a three to cut the deficit to 10 but once again Shippensburg responded and would take a 52-37 lead into the fourth quarter.
The buckets continued to fall for Shippensburg as the Raiders would extend the lead to a 30-point win. The Marauders fall to 4-8 (2-5 PSAC) on the season but will return home Friday hosting East Stroudsburg at 5:30 p.m.
