
Women's Tennis Narrowly Edged by Nebraska Wesleyan

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Millersville women's tennis team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan on Sunday, opening the spring schedule. The Marauders lost to the Prarie Wolves by a narrow 5-4 score that saw three singles matches go to four sets.
The closest match was between Millersville's Sarah Sambrick and Nebraska Wesleyan's Katherine Ternent at No. 1 singles. Sambrick walked away with a win after picking up an 11-9 win in the third set. Kaylora Thompson and newcomer Kelley Hershey also went into three sets and came away victorious. Nicole Daacke, playing at No. 2 singles, picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Natalie Cech.
Although the Marauders held a 4-2 edge in singles matches, Nebraska Wesleyan reigned as the winner of the dual after winning all three doubles matches.
Millersville is set to take on Gordon College in Hilton Head, SC. on Monday, March 7.
