GAME OVERVIEW
• Millersville advanced to the PSAC Quarterfinal after dispatching Lock Haven in the first round game, 71-52. Millersville is back in the playoffs after missing in 2014-15. The program had reached the postseason in a record 17 consecutive seasons prior to that. The Marauders are the No. 3 seed in the tournament, marking the 18th time in the last 20 seasons it finished no lower than third in the PSAC East. Millersville has won three PSAC Tournament Championships, including one under Mary Fleig in 2004-05. The win over Lock Haven was Millersville's first tournament win since beating Shippensburg in the 2013 quarterfinals. Millersville has reached the semifinals 14 times under Coach Fleig and is 12-6 in quarterfinal games under her direction.
• Tuesday's match-up is just the fifth PSAC Tournament game played between Millersville and Shippensburg. Millersville holds a 4-0 edge in the postseason match-ups and won the 1983 PSAC Championship over Shippensburg by a 69-54 score.
• Turnovers and turnover creation is key for Millersville. The Marauders are 11-1 when committing fewer turnovers than their opponent and 14-1 when scoring more points off turnovers. Shippensburg commits just 14.2 turnovers per game and forces 18 per game. Only three PSAC teams commit fewer turnovers than Shippensburg. In the Feb. 10 victory, it totaled just nine turnovers compared to 10 assists.

Those points allowed and field goal percentage are still the highest by any Marauder opponent this season. Millersville owns the PSAC's top-ranked defense in scoring, field goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage. Millersville has held 18 teams at 40 percent shooting or lower and is 18-2 in those games. Ten of the last 11 opponents have failed to shoot better than 40 percent and seven of the last eight have been limited to no more than 64 points.
• The last PSAC team to finish the season ranked first in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense and 3-point field goal percentage defense was Millersville in 2007-08.
• Aunjel Van Brakle produced a career game in the first round of the tournament, posting her third career double-double with a career-high 21 points and 11 rebounds. She also set a career high with three made 3-pointers. Van Brakle has scored in double-figures 11 times this season. She has also blocked two or more shots eight times.
