THE STARTING FIVE
(1) Millersville is coming off its 11th-straight win over Mansfield and are now 31-0 all-time at Pucillo Gymnasium against the Mountaineers. The Marauder beat Mansfield on senior day by a score of 66-45, and held the Mountaineers to 14 first-half points. The Marauders are 57-3 all-time against Mansfield. Senior Sophia Waters scored a game-high 11 points, while Aurielle Mosley collected her 16th double-double of the season. Millersville held PSAC leading scorer Mallory Moore to just 10 points.
(2) Shippensburg and Millersville entered the 2011-12 season tied in the overall series 41-41. The Marauders took a 42-41 advantage after torching the Raiders by a score of 75-60 on Jan. 25 at Pucillo Gymansium for their seventh-straight win over Shippensburg. Millersville jumped out to a 47-35 halftime lead shooting 59 percent in the half in the last meeting. Mosley scored 17 first-half points and then was held scoreless in the second half.
(3) Mosley collected her 16th double-double of the season, 35th of her career, with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Mansfield. Mosley is now 35 points away from 1,000 with two regular season games and at least one postseason game. Mosley currently ranks four in the conference in scoring (15.8 points per game), second in rebounding (11.0 rebounds per game) and third in block shots (61 / 2.5 per game).
(4) Head Coach Mary Fleig is 15-12 all-time against Shippensburg, but she is just 5-8 against the Raiders at Heiges Field House. Fleig lost six of her first seven at Shippensburg but has won four of last six, including three straight.
(5) The Marauders close out the regular season on the road against Shippensburg tonight and then at Bloomsburg Saturday, Feb. 22. Millersville is locked into its 16th-straight PSAC Tournament bid and can be no worse than the third seed as Shippensburg has locked up the four seed. The Marauders will likely be the third seed unless Bloomsburg and West Chester lose out creating a tie at the top.
ABOUT SHIPPENSBURG
• Shippensburg clinched the fourth and final playoff spot in the East after holding on to beat an inspired Cheyney squad by a score of 53-48. The Raiders trailed the Wolves at the break by a score of 23-19. Shippensburg has clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament for the first time since the 2007-08 season and for the first time since joing the PSAC Eastern Division.
• The Raiders are 7-5 (4-4 PSAC, 3-2 PSAC East) at Heiges Field House this season. Shippensburg last home victory over Millersville came on Jan. 15, 2008 when the Raiders topped the Maruaders 72-61. The Raiders, however, are 0-7 (0-3 at home) against Millersville since joining the PSAC Eastern Division in 2008-09.
• Senior Monae Baker leads Shippensburg with 15 points per game to rank her sixth in the PSAC. In the last meeting on Jan. 25 Baker scored a game-high 19 points, hitting 7of-9 from the charity stripe in the 75-60 loss at Pucillo Gymnasium. Baker ranks third in the conference behind Mosley with 9.4 rebounds per game.
