
Marauders Stay Perfect at Pucillo Against Mansfield

Millersville, Pa. – Millersville trailed Mansfield for a total of 20 second in the first half and then the Marauders scorched the Mountaineers for a 66-45 win on Senior Day. The Marauders are now 31-0 all-time against Mansfield at Pucillo Gymnasium.
Mansfield (9-15, 6-14 PSAC) took its only lead of the game with 9:50 in the first half when Meredith Hafer hit a jumper in the paint to give the Mountaineers a 6-4 lead. Millersville (16-8, 13-7 PSAC) took the lead right back in the countering possession.
Redshirt junior Aurielle Mosley dished the ball to senior Sophia Waters, who was playing her last game at Pucillo Gymnasium. Waters hit a trey to give the Marauders a 7-6 lead. Millersville jumped out to a 16-6 lead on a jumper by Waters to give her five in the first half.
The Marauders went into the break with a 25-14 lead, holding Mansfield to 24 percent from the field in the first half. Millersville registered seven block shots in the first half with Mosley blocking three. The Marauders finished the game with eight blocks.
Both teams picked up the offense in the second half with Millersville outscoring Mansfield 41-31 in the side.
Waters scored back-to-back fast break layups to give the Marauders a 41-20 lead with 13:25 remaining in the second half. Waters finished with a game-high 11 points and two steals.
Senada Mehmedovic came off the bench and went 2-for-2 from the 3-point line, including her first with 9:20 remaining to give Millersville a 22-point lead. Mehmedovic's second 3-pointer came with 1:30 remaining, followed by a 3 from freshman Rachel Coulter, which gave Millersville a 66-43 lead, its largest of the game.
Mosley and Carly Gallagher finished with 10 points for the Marauders. Mosley is now 35 points away from 1,000.
PSAC leading scorer Mallory Moore, who averages 19 points per game, was held to just 10.
Millersville has now won 11-staight games against Mansfield and improves its home record against the Mountaineers to 31-0 all-time.
Carrie Sheffey, Gabrielle Styles and Waters played their final regular season game at Pucillo Gymnasium.
Millersville closes out the regular season with two road games at Shippenburg (Feb. 22) and Bloomsburg (Feb. 25). The Marauders and Raiders tip at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
