ABOUT THE GAME
· The 23rd-ranked Marauders are coming off of a 57-41 downing of Cheyney Wednesday evening in Pucillo Gymnasium. Four players scored in double-figures and every player grabbed at least one rebound throughout the game. Millersville forced the Wolves to commit 20 fouls, essentially handing the Marauders 18 points. MU shot a season-high 78.3 percent from the free throw line on 18-of-23 shooting.
· Week after week the Marauders continue to remain atop the PSAC in a variety of categories. Millersville remains the leader in scoring defense, limiting its opponents to just 56.1 points per game while the club averages 64.2. MU dominates the blocked shots column, denying an average of 5.9 shots per game. The Marauders also lead the offensive rebounds category with an average of 20.2 per game and hold a notable +9.8 rebounding margin over their competition.
· The sophomore duo of Mashira Newman and Aurielle Mosley are consistantly listed among the top players in the conference. Newman leads the PSAC in steals with an average 3.9 per game and ranks sixth in assists with 4.7 steals per game. Mosley is tied for the top spot in blocked shots with an average of 2.6 per game. She ranks atop the offensive rebounds category with 5.4 per game and second in overall rebounds, pulling down an average of 11.5 per game.
· Long-time friends and competitors Mary Fleig and Deirdre Kane face off for the 45th time Saturday. Although Fleig's Marauders hold a slight advantage in the all-time series record, Millersville looks to avenage an 83-77 double overtime loss to the Golden Rams last year in the PSAC semifinals. The two squads will battle it out for the conference's first place slot.
· When comparing Millersville and West Chester side-by-side the clubs match up quite well. The Marauders and the Golden Rams both out-score their opponents by more than eight points apiece and out-rebound by more than seven. Both squads also pick up more steals than their competition and generate fewer turnovers.
