Fitzgerald Lands Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Atlantic Region Recognition

Millersville, Pa. - Sophomore catcher Kelly Fitzgerald added to her 2010 list of accomplishments Thursday when she was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Atlantic Region Second Team.
The NCAA Division II Atlantic Region includes players from the PSAC, WVIAC and CIAA. Coaches from each school in the region cast votes to select the all-region teams.
Fitzgerald, who was already named All-PSAC East First Team, produced an outstanding offensive season. She hit .374 and tied the school's single season record with 38 RBIs. She also hit three home runs and 11 doubles.
Not only was she Millersville's top run-producer, but she also helped the pitching staff to a 3.16 ERA, and she committed just one error in 229 chances. Her throwing arm also kept base runners in place as she posted a .548 stolen base against percentage.
