Shari Bucklin-Webber

In seven seasons as head coach of MIllersville men and women's tennis, Shari Bucklin-Webber has been named PSAC Coach of the Year three times, led the men's team to five-straight PSAC Tournament appearances and two trips to the NCAA Atlantic Regional. In 2010-11, she became the first woman to win PSAC Coach of the Year on the men's side.

Bucklin-Webber, well-respected among her peers, was selected as the PSAC Coach of the Year on the women's side in 2011-12--just one season after winning the award on the men's side and won the award for a second consecutive season in 2012-13. Between the programs, she has guided teams to seven PSAC Tournament appearances and helped athletes to 15 All-PSAC honors.

Also the 2009 ITA Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year, Bucklin-Webber has guided a men's doubles team to All-PSAC honors two times. In her first season at the helm, she mentored Drew Slocum to PSAC Rookie of the Year honors and saw senior Chris Matisse capture the PSAC Player of the Week award. In 2011, Slocum was named All-PSAC Singles. Slocum and Preetham Moras also captured the PSAC Doubles Championship. Moras was named All-PSAC Singles in 2012.

The women's program has also had a resurgence under Bucklin-Webber. In the 2010-11 season, sophomore Melissa Plowman became the first Marauder women's player to earn All-PSAC East honors since 2007. Plowman repeated the feat in 2012 and 2013 and teamed with Samantha Prager to become the first women's doubles team to earn All-PSAC honors since the conference began recognizing doubles teams in 2006. Plowman and Kelsey Waite duplicated the accomplishment in 2013. Bucklin-Webber's 2011-12 club reached the postseason for the first time in five years, qualifying for the PSAC Tournament. Her 2012-13 team returned to the PSAC Tournament. She also helped the Marauders make the NCAA Tournament in 2007 as an assistant coach under Dewitt Boyd.

Bucklin-Webber began her coaching career in 1986 as the head coach of Marshall University. For the 1988-1989 season, she was the assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame (Md.). From 1995-1998, Bucklin-Webber was the head coach at Albright College. Currently, she teaches at Lancaster Country Club.

Bucklin-Webber played tennis at Marshall University from 1982 to 1986. She was a team captain for all four years. After college, she played in three national women's doubles tournaments and one mixed doubles tournament. She also holds four United States Tennis Association doubles titles and was a Women's Tennis Association Mecca Cup qualifier in 2002.

She was inducted to the Berks County Tennis Hall of Fame in 2006.
