LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Marauders men's soccer program swept the PSAC East weekly Athlete of the Week awards as Zander Leik and Nolan McCarty claimed both honors this week.
Leik scored the lone goal last Wednesday in the Marauders' victory over Shippensburg. The Dallastown native connected with Matias Schmidt on a through ball that allowed Leik to score the lone goal of the game, marking his second consecutive game with a goal and bringing his season point total to 15.
McCarty claimed Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career. He also makes it back-to-back weeks that a Marauder has won the award, following Kehmar Green's honor last week. McCarty has partnered with Green throughout the season to anchor the backline and helped limit the Raiders to two shots on goal in Wednesday's victory. He currently ranks fourth on the team in minutes played this season, starting all 10 games in which he has appeared.
Millersville will return to action on Wednesday as it travels to West Chester.
