Cleaver's dominant defensive impact earns her PSAC Defensive Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- Sophomore forward, Kelly Cleaver, earned PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week for her strong performances during the week of January 19 where the Marauders went 2-0 in wins against Kutztown and Bloomsburg.
Cleaver was the anchor of a strong Millersville defense which held two strong PSAC East opponents to under 60 points. In the week opener against Kutztown, a game the Marauders won by five points, Cleaver had four blocks and a steal while also adding six points and four rebounds to the mix offensively. Cleaver's four blocks marks the third time this season that she was able to achieve the feat.
In the Marauders' next outing against a high seeded Bloomsburg Huskies, Cleaver continued that defensive dominance with three blocks and a steal. Bringing her averages for just this week to 3.5 blocks in her two games and one steal which assisted in the wins for the Marauders.
The Marauders look to continue their ascent to the top of the PSAC East in a rematch this Wednesday against East Stroudsburg who is looking to even the season series with the Marauders.
