BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The Millersville women's tennis team was downed in a weather-shortened dual at Bloomsburg, as the Huskies jumped out to a 4–0 lead before the matches were called.
Bloomsburg took advantage of 'Ville's roster limitations, with Millersville fielding five athletes; ceding a doubles match from the start and a point in singles play. The Huskies took the two played doubles matches, allowing them to jump out to a quick 2–0 lead. Bloomsburg then earned the two first wins of singles play to clinch the four points necessary for the win. Lauren Hayes, Chloe Abramowitz, and Sophie Lanius all were in positions to compete down the stretch, but rain caused play to be called early.
Millersville is now 8–9 overall and 3–2 against PSAC East rivals with two matches remaining on the regular season schedule. 'Ville will host Shippensburg for its final in-conference dual of the season at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 at McComsey Tennis Courts.
