Jabria Ingram recognized as PSAC East Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - After a dominant seven days in which the Marauders went 2-0 against divisional foes Shepherd and Mansfield, Millersville guard Jabria Ingram has been named PSAC East Athlete of the Week. The graduate student averaged 20 points, six rebounds and six assists across the two victories and led the team in scoring and assists in both games.
"I'm excited for Jabria. She's gone through some adversity due to injury this season and kudos to her for having a week like this and helping our team be successful," Millersville women's basketball head coach Kira Mowen said of the award. "I'm especially happy for her as a senior that she gets this accolade."
Ingram started off her week with a career-best performance in a 77-48 drubbing of the Rams on February 14; she tallied 21 points, five rebounds, seven assists and five steals without a turnover. The points and steals totals marked career bests. It is the third time she's set a new career-high in scoring this season. She followed that up on Saturday afternoon against the Mountaineers, recording 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists while shooting five of seven from the field and a perfect nine of nine from the free throw line.
All told, the Philadelphia native shot 66.7% from the field in the week's contests. The assist marks raised her season-long average to 4.2 per contest, good for fourth in the conference. She also raised her second-ranked assist to turnover ratio to 1.7.
Ingram will look to provide an encore performance next week when the Marauders travel to Kutztown on February 21. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
