
Three Marauders set to compete in PSAC Individual Championship

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The PSAC Individual Championship is set to begin Saturday, October 8 and the Millersville men's tennis team will enter two players for singles action and one doubles team. Frank Yanni and Shaurya Piplani are set to play in the singles tournament. Yanni will then team up with partner Dylan Tull for doubles action.
In singles, Yanni has competed in all four matches and picked up a 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) win at No. 2 over Jefferson's Antonio Durrall.
At the ITA Regionals, Piplani picked up two wins which included a consolation match against West Liberty. His third win of the season included a 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 3 position against District of Columbia's Maurici Corty Sosa.
Tull and Yanni are Millersville's No. 1 doubles duo and hold a 5-2 record this season. The duo reached the first-place match in flight one during the Bloomsburg Invitational, winning both matches 8-5. Tull and Yanni reached the ITA Regionals quarterfinals against top competitors in the region, they also swept their doubles matches to help boost their team to a win over District of Columbia.
Yanni is a two-time All-PSAC Doubles recipient and is no stranger to the PSAC Doubles Championship, winning in 2021 with former partner Carlos Martinez-Lucas.
The PSAC Individual Championship is a three-day event and is scheduled to begin Saturday and conclude on Monday, October 10. The PSAC Championships will be held at the Burt Reese Tennis Center at Bloomsburg University. Men's doubles are set to begin at 10 a.m. and men's singles will start at 1:30 a.m.
