Marauders fall in road exhibition

Box Score PRINCESS ANNE, MD. – The Millersville women's basketball team (1-3) fell to Maryland Eastern Shore (3-3) in their Sunday afternoon exhibition by a final of 39-74.

The Hawks took an early lead, working to a 19-10 advantage in the first quarter. Maryland put the game out of reach with a dominate second quarter, as the Hawks held a 44-18 lead at the end of the first half.
 
The Marauders had their best performance in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Hawks 14-11 over the final 10 minutes of play.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Lauren Lister led Millersville with 15 points as she was the only Marauder in double figures. Lister also led the team in steals with four.
  • Ty Taylor (7) and Madison Grubb (6) were the next highest scorers for 'Ville. Grubb recorded all her points on a pair of threes, as she was the lone Marauder to connect from beyond the arc.
  • Mia Leonard had eight rebounds in a team high 30 minutes of action. Leonard led Millersville in boards by more than double the next closest Marauder.
  • Lister, Brenna Ortwein and Kaitlyn Lee each recorded a pair of assists.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Marauders return to Pucillo Gymnasium this weekend for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. Friday's contest will feature Clarion with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff, while Saturday's game against Pitt-Johnson will begin at 1 p.m.
  • The group will open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East play in the new year, as Shepherd will visit for a game on Jan. 5, 2022.
