PRINCESS ANNE, MD. – The Millersville women's basketball team (1-3) fell to Maryland Eastern Shore (3-3) in their Sunday afternoon exhibition by a final of 39-74.

The Hawks took an early lead, working to a 19-10 advantage in the first quarter. Maryland put the game out of reach with a dominate second quarter, as the Hawks held a 44-18 lead at the end of the first half.

The Marauders had their best performance in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Hawks 14-11 over the final 10 minutes of play.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Lauren Lister led Millersville with 15 points as she was the only Marauder in double figures. Lister also led the team in steals with four.
Ty Taylor (7) and Madison Grubb (6) were the next highest scorers for 'Ville. Grubb recorded all her points on a pair of threes, as she was the lone Marauder to connect from beyond the arc.
Mia Leonard had eight rebounds in a team high 30 minutes of action. Leonard led Millersville in boards by more than double the next closest Marauder.
Lister, Brenna Ortwein and Kaitlyn Lee each recorded a pair of assists.

UP NEXT

The Marauders return to Pucillo Gymnasium this weekend for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. Friday's contest will feature Clarion with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff, while Saturday's game against Pitt-Johnson will begin at 1 p.m.
The group will open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East play in the new year, as Shepherd will visit for a game on Jan. 5, 2022.
