Greg Breitbach accepts new role at University; Matt Sutjak ’10 named football team’s interim head coach

Millersville, Pa. – After serving as the head coach of the Millersville University football program for the past five years, Greg Breitbach has accepted a new role on campus supporting the university and its athletics department. Director of Athletics Miles Gallagher has appointed Matt Sutjak '10 as the team's interim head coach. A national search for the program's head coach will begin immediately.

Breitbach came to Millersville prior to the 2013 season and most recently coached the Marauders to a 4-7 record in 2017. Sutjak also joined Millersville as an assistant coach in 2013 and has spent the last two seasons as the team's defensive coordinator.

Under Sutjak's direction in 2017, the Marauders' defense posted its best scoring and total defensive numbers since 2007.  He coached a trio of All-PSAC East players in 2017. As a player, Sutjak was a three-year starter for the Marauders as a free safety. He tied for the PSAC lead in interceptions as a senior in 2010.

"We appreciate all of Coach Breitbach's hard work in helping improve the football program over the last five years," said Gallagher. "He will continue to be an asset to the university. We are fully committed to our football program, success on the field, and developing young men into future leaders. I have full confidence in Coach Sutjak during this time of transition. This is a program with a rich tradition and history of success. I'm confident we will find an excellent leader to move us forward. The future is bright for Ville Football."

Sutjak will assume all of the responsibilities as head coach until the position is filled.
