
Marauders Top Warriors in Final Seconds

Millersville, Pa. - Millersville lacrosse topped East Stroudsburg in thrilling fashion on Saturday as Jamie Damirgian scored with five seconds left to earn a 12-11 victory. Bridget Hufnagel led the way for the Marauders, scoring four times and adding one assist on just six shots. Abby Mack and Sabrina Fusco each added a pair of goals and Fusco lead the team with three assists. Bryana Weston-Wyatt recorded eight saves en route to her fourth victory as a starter.
Sabrina Fusco started things off for Millersville scoring less than a minute into the game when she received a pass from Hufnagel. The Warriors would score the next two goals before Nathalie Sell evened the score with 13 minutes remaining in the first half. The senior duo of Hufnagel and Mack put Millersville up 4-2 as the two sides went into the half.
Millersville came out of the gates strong in the second, extending their lead to 7-4 as Hufnagel and Mack struck again. After Taylor Davis put the Marauders up 8-6, the Warriors scored four straight to take a two-goal lead with 12:30 to play. Millersville would respond as Fusco and Hufnagel tied the game at 10. After Emily Fitzsimmons gave the Warriors a one-goal lead, Hufnagel netted her fourth goal to tie the game with just under five minutes to play. The Marauders gained possession around the three minute mark, and would hold on to it until Jamie Damirgian squeezed by two defenders and scored to put Millersville ahead 12-11 with just five seconds remaining.
Damirgian's fifth goal of the season lifted the Marauders to 4-1 starting1-0 in conference play. Millersville travels to West Chester to face the Golden Rams Tuesday at 4 p.m.
