MILLERSVILLE, Pa. --- After scoring the game's opening goal, the Marauders conceded an 8-0 run in favor of the Golden Bears that had them facing a 10-3 deficit at halftime. With just two games left in the season, the Maruaders control their fate when it comes ot PSAC Playoff hopes.
Avery Weaber kicked off the scoring for the Marauders with a goal just three minutes into the contest. In response, an eight unanswered goal streak by the Golden Bears. The Golden Bears, who find themselves as the front-runner to secure the PSAC three seed heading into the playoffs, gave the Marauders a hard time all afternoon, as the Marauders couldn't combine defensive stops with sustained offensive possession.
While the Marauders tightened things up defensively in the second half, only allowing six goals in the second half as opposed to 10, it was not enough to keep the Golden Bears' offensive attack at bay. Millersville had three goals in the first half and just two in the second to push their goal total for the game to five.
Millersville finds itself as the fifth seed in the PSAC standings, with two huge opportunities ahead. This Saturday, they travel to Shippensburg, a team that sits right below the Marauders in the standings. Then, just a week later, they will host Bloomsburg in their final regular-season game, a must-win contest, as Bloomsburg currently sits at the four seed in the PSAC East.
