EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Millersville women's lacrosse could not overcome a dominant opening quarter from No. 7 East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon, falling 17–6 in PSAC East play. Despite the setback, the Marauders received standout performances from several key contributors, including senior Mary Moraca, who delivered one of her most complete outings of the season.
Moraca led Millersville with three goals, adding three draw controls and two caused turnovers while consistently generating offensive pressure. Her hat trick marked her second consecutive game scoring and accounted for half of Millersville's scoring output.
The Marauders also benefited from strong playmaking from Addison Geary, who recorded two assists. Katlyn Krebs contributed across the field with one goal, which was the first of her career, three draw controls, and one caused turnover, while Avery Weaber added a goal to round out Millersville's scoring.
East Stroudsburg (14–0, 9–0 PSAC East) set the tone early with a nine‑goal first quarter and carried a 14–2 lead into halftime. Millersville (5–8, 3–6 PSAC East) responded with a more composed second half, outscoring the Warriors 4-3 over the final 30 minutes and generating improved possession through draw controls and defensive stops.
Goalkeeper KC O'Neill finished with seven saves against 24 shots on goal, helping stabilize the Marauders after the early ESU surge.
Millersville totaled 16 shots, nine ground balls, and nine draw controls, while forcing six turnovers. ESU held advantages in shots (31), ground balls (16), and caused turnovers (14), capitalizing on its early momentum.
The Marauders return to action next week in another tough game at home against Kutztown at 4:00 p.m.
