
Charleston Hands Millersville First Loss of the Season

Clarion, Pa. – Charleston's offense was too much to handle Saturday night as the Millersville women's basketball team dropped an 86-71 decision to the Golden Eagles.
The Marauders dropped to 2-1 on the season with Charleston shooting 51.1 percent (24-47) from the floor including 9-of-18 from behind the arc to improve to 4-0.
Carly Gallagher led Millersville in scoring with 21 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Shelby Reimer dropped a career-high 20 points and was 6-of-9 from 3-point range. The third Marauder in double figures was Celeste Robinson with 12 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Yasmin Cooper was held to just one point in 21 minutes of action after she put up 29 points and 18 boards a night ago.
The Golden Eagles opened the game with an 18-4 run and didn't look back. They led by as many as 28 points in the first stanza and took a 46-18 advantage into the locker room. Charleston kept the pressure on in the second half as its lead increased to 39. The Golden Eagles maintained control of the game and raced to an 86-71 victory.
Millersville will open PSAC East play Tuesday at Bloomsburg with tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
