
Mosley’s 17 Guides Marauders to Rout of Cheyney

Cheyney, Pa. – The Millersville women's basketball team responded after dropping its PSAC East opener on Saturday with a convincing win at Cheyney on Monday by a score of 66-49. Aurielle Mosley scored a game-high 17 points to extend her double-figures streak to seven games.
Millersville (9-5, 6-4 PSAC) opened the game on a 14-2 run in the first seven minutes of actions. The Marauders then pushed their lead to 20-8 with 7:34 remaining in the first half.
Cheyney (0-14, 0-10 PSAC) finally began to hit shots on consecutive offensive trips to go on a 7-1 run over the next two minutes to cut Millersville's lead to six, down 21-15. It was the closest the Wolves came to the Marauders in the game. The Marauders closed out the half with a 30-20 lead.
Mosley finished the half with 12 of her 17 points in just 15 minutes of action.
Cheyney's Nadirah Brown hit a three to bring the Wolves within seven, down 32-25, to open the second half. Brown finished the game with a team-leading 15 points.
Carly Gallagher then hit back-to-back three pointers in consecutive trips to increase Millersville lead to 13, up 38-25. Gallagher finished in double-figures, with 11 points, for the fourth-straight game since missing nine-straight games due to injury.
The Marauders continued to roll and took their largest lead of 23 points with four minutes remaining, 62-39. The Wolves closed out the game with a 10-4 run after the Millersville starters took an early exit to give the Marauders a 66-49 win.
Mosley finished the game with 17 points going six-for-11 from the field and collected six rebounds. Mashira Newman contributed 13 points, five steals and three blocks. Gabrielle Styles finished with a team-high nine rebounds, while also blocking three shots.
Millersville gets one day off before hosting East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Pucillo Gymnasium. The Marauders and Warriors tip at 6 p.m.
