
Segar's Career Day Leads Marauders to Senior Day Victory

Millersville, Pa. - Sophomore Katrina Segar scored a career-high four goals in helping the Millersville women's lacrosse team celebrate Senior Day with a 13-9 victory over visiting Regis Sunday afternoon at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.
Assisting on two of Segar's goals was junior Liz Weekley, who led the team with four assists in addition to two goals.
The win pushed Millersville to 6-8 overall and dropped Regis to 6-4.
Millersville started quickly, opening a 3-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the game. Regis, however, countered with five unanswered goals in just over 10 minutes of action to take a 5-3 lead.
Millersville's Brittany Long stopped the Regis run with a goal off a Weekley assist at the 21:19 mark--just 11 seconds after Regis' fifth goal.
Long's goal sparked a 5-0 Millersville run over the next 4:10 seconds. Included in the run was another goal by Long, another assist and a goal from Weekley, a goal from Segar and one from Morgan Mangiaruga.
Regis got one goal back to Millersville's lead to 8-6, but Segar and Weekley hooked up for the second time with 1:26 left in the half to give the Marauders a three goal advantage.
Just 2:43 into the second period, Weekley scored her second goal of the game, and the Marauders received insurance late with Segar's fourth goal and two from Katie DiRico.
Goalkeeper Courtney Haggerty did the rest. She stopped nine of the 18 shots that came her way.
The Marauders return to action Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. in a non-conference game against Stonehill. Fans can follow the game via live stats.
