
Marauders Roll Past Georgian Court

Lakewood, N.J. - The Millersville women's tennis team boosted its record above .500 with a convincing 8-1 dual victory over homestanding Georgian Court Thursday afternoon.
Millersville swept all six singles bouts, and its only loss was at No. 3 doubles. With the win, the Marauders improved to 3-2.
Both Samantha Prager and Melissa Plowman increased their team-high wins total to four. Prager won 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot, and Plowman rolled 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Andrea Konas dropped just one game in the first and then cruised 6-0 in the second for a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles.
Kaeley McCabe won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. Samantha Souders, seeing her first action of her sophomore season, notched a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. At the No. 5 spot, Shauna Powers had her work cut out for her against Alexus McClintic. Powers won the first set 6-4, but McClintic won the second 6-3. Power bounced back, though, and won the super tiebreaker 12-10.
In doubles, Konas and Plowman picked up their second victory of the season as the No. 1 doubles team. They topped Natalie Grieci Brittany Aimone, 8-2. McCabe and Prager gave the Marauders their eighth and final point with an 8-3 triumph at No. 2.
Millersville wraps up its fall dual schedule against Delaware State at McComsey Tennis Courts on Oct. 9. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
