Marauders score two complete team wins over Kutztown

Matthew Williams went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two walks in game one and added two more hits and a walk in game two. Sammy Laux totaled four hits in the doubleheader, and Xavier Smith's grand slam highlighted Millersville's explosive first inning. Donis Rodriguez stole three of Millersville's six bases in game one. Millersville totaled 20 runs, 17 hits, five walks and five hit-by-pitches against Kutztown's two starting pitchers.
Millersville's two starters, however, were outstanding. Eli Simonton allowed one run on four hits and did not walk a batter in six innings. Alex Kuehn followed that effort by allowing one run on three hits and two walks in six innings. Tucker Chamberlin made his return from arm surgery, and his scoreless seventh inning the opener was his first outing since April of 2025. Christian Valent pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts in game two.
In game one, Millersville scored two runs in the first, five in the fourth, and two more in the fifth. In game two, after falling behind 1-0, Millersville quickly rallied. Three of the first four hitters walked, and Smith blasted a grand slam to left center. The next three hitters also reached on free passes. The Marauders ended up sending 17 batters to the plate, with five hits, four walks, three hit batsmen, two balks and an error.
Millersville's two wins moved it into sole possession of third place in the PSAC East with six games remaining.
The Marauders close out the series at Kutztown Friday starting at 1 p.m.
