MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville baseball program welcomes back a familiar face as 1991 graduate Todd Garber returns to his alma mater.
Garber will serve as a volunteer assistant and the Marauders' hitting coach alongside interim head coach Eli Nabholz, who took over the reins at the end of July.
Nabholz shared his excitement about welcoming back the Marauder alum and believes Garber's track record will be a critical asset to the baseball program.
"Our team is excited for Coach Garber to return to the 'Ville," said Nabholz. "Todd's experience in the game at multiple levels and his track record of developing elite hitters and defenders will be an asset to our players. It will be great to see Garb back in the Black and Gold."
As a Marauder, Garber was a four-year starter, leading the team in doubles as a freshman and hitting .402 to earn All-PSAC East honors in 1990. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in industrial technology in 1991 and later earned a master's degree in technology education in 1998.
Following graduation, Garber served as an assistant coach for the Marauders and Franklin & Marshall before joining the high school ranks.
Garber's tenure at Lampeter-Strasburg High School from 1996-2012 helped build the program into a powerhouse. He won 250 games, developed 47 future college baseball players and four future professionals. He also served as a mentor and high school coach to former Millersville head coach Jon Shehan, who led the Marauders to more than 600 wins during his tenure.
Garber's Pioneers won two state championships and finished as the PIAA runner-up twice. He also oversaw extensive facility improvements and developed a program that extended into the community's youth programs. He returned to the program as an assistant coach, focusing on player development and daily instruction from 2024-26.
