MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — The Millersville field hockey team (7-10, 3-5) fell to the West Chester Golden Rams (12-4, 6-2) in a non-conference game at Beimsderfer Stadium Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter was dominated by the Marauders in time of possession, but both goalkeepers stole the show. Sarah Crysler made three saves, two of which were made by dropping down into a split to turn the Golden Rams away. West Chester's goalie saved all four shots that were pushed her way.
Both goalies continued their strong performances in the second quarter, but the Golden Rams broke through off an end line strike that was deflected up and over the shoulder of Crysler to break the tie three minutes in. The Marauders took two shots on goal in the quarter, but they were both saved by the Golden Rams' keeper.Â
West Chester took over the third quarter and pushed four shots on goal with three corner opportunities, all of which were turned away by Sarah Crysler as she kept the Golden Ram attack at bay, keeping the Marauders within striking distance for the tie.Â
Despite Millersville's best efforts, they were unable to get the equalizer in the fourth quarter being out shot by the Golden Rams 4-1 with one save from Sarah Crysler to end off her strong night.Â

POST GAME WITH COACH BEHRENS
-
Sarah Crysler played a phenomenal game in net for you guys tonight, can you speak to that leadership and then obviously how crucial it is to have a goalie playing at that high of a level?Â
-
Obviously a huge game coming up against Bloomsburg, what is going to be the key to coming out victorious this weekend?
