SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va – The Millersville women's tennis team cruised past Shepherd on Tuesday afternoon, coming away with a 6–1 victory.
Although they were missing one of their top players, the Marauders didn't miss a beat.
Chloe Abramowitz and
Sido Rault took the top spot in doubles and started with a 6–1 win.
Hui Jen Soo paired with
Lauren Hayes in the second match, winning 6–0. Closing out doubles play,
Sophie Lanius and
Luci Consigliere also had a flawless match, winning 6–0.
Millersville got by the Rams in singles play in dominating fashion, winning five of the matches and not allowing more than two points in any of their wins. Abramowitz won 6–0, 6–2, and Rault was successful with a 6–1, 6–2 win. Hayes defeated her opponent 6–0, 6–1, and Lanius was victorious 6–2, 6–0. In the last match, Consigiliere came away with a 6–0, 6–0 sweep.
The Marauders are now 9–6 overall, 2–0 against PSAC opponents, and are currently riding a four-match win streak. Millersville will look to carry its momentum against Goldey-Beacom at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 12 in Wilmington, Del.
