MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — In the Marauders last match of the fall season, the Millersville women's tennis team was defeated by Daemen by the score of 5–2.
The Marauders nearly came away with the point from doubles play, getting a 7–5 win out of their top duo of Hui Jen Soo and Chloe Abramowitz, but fell narrowly in the second match to give Daemen the point. The Marauders got wins out of the three and four spots in their lineup, as Lauren Hayes capped off her successful fall season with a 6–2, 6–0 win, and Luci Consigliere defeated her opponent 7–5, 6–2. Daemen was able to take the four remaining singles matches to take the dual 5–2.
The Marauders concluded their fall season with today's dual, and will next play against on Feb. 14 against Salem at Hempfield Sports Center
POSTMATCH REACTION FROM HEAD COACH MATT HELSEL
Thoughts on today and the fall season: "Doubles is usually a strong point for us and we're usually very tough to beat in close matches, so our dual matches this fall were a little disappointing. However, we played through several injuries, and we've been very competitive despite being short-handed. We're a tough team, and we'll only be tougher when we get everyone healthy."
