
Marauders duo reaches quarterfinals in ITA Atlantic Regional

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Marauders returned to Bloomsburg this past weekend for the ITA Atlantic Regional, competing in singles and doubles play.
Hui Jen Soo and Noelle Htwar were the only two Marauders to compete in the singles bracket, but neither were able to advance to the round of 32. Soo fell 6–7, 6–2, 8–10 in a tight contest against Alyssa Kush from Frostburg State University, and Htwar dropped her match against Maria Fonseca from Fairmont State University 2–6, 3–6.
In doubles play, the two Marauder duos were Htwar and Soo, and Lauren Hayes and Chloe Abramowitz. Hayes and Abramowitz swept their first match 6–0 against a duo from Slippery Rock University but fell in the round of 16 1–6 to a duo from University of Charleston. Htwar and Soo won their opening match against a Fairmont State University duo 6–2, and advanced to the quarterfinals off a 6–0 win against a West Virginia State University duo. However, their run came to an end in a 0–6 loss in the quarterfinals.
Next up for the Marauders is a home matchup against Daemen at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.
