Millersville, now 15-4, extended its winning streak to eight before Goldey-Beacom's (8-5) win in the nightcap. In game one, the Marauders posted their fifth double-digit run scoring performance of the season.
GAME ONE
It was a home run barrage for the Marauders in Sunday's opener as they hit five, led by Williams' grand slam in the top of the third. Williams hit a three-run blast in the seventh as well. Keegan Soltis in a two-run shot in the fourth, and Thomas Caufield's first of the season came in the fifth. Sam Morris hit a two-run homer in the sixth.
The Marauders raced to a 5-0 lead, but Goldey-Beacom erased the deficit and tied the game with five runs in the third. Millersville retook the lead in the fourth as Chase Simmons jump-started a rally with a single. Simmons later scored on a passed ball, and Soltis' homer boosted Millersville's lead to 8-5. Caufield's homer in the fifth added to the lead. Goldey-Beacom cut into the Marauders' lead with a three-run fifth that included a two-run home run from Marlon Lindsey.
Millersville never relinquished the lead, however, as Morris's home run sparked a three-run sixth, and Williams' second homer put the lead out of reach for the Lightning.
Soltis scored four runs, going 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs. Bren Taylor scored three runs despite not recording a hit. Morris drove in three runs. Morris, Williams, Caufield and Simmons all totaled two hits. Logan Layton picked up the mound win, going 2 2/3 innings in relief, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts.
GAME TWO
A sacrifice fly from Morris put the Marauders on the board in the first inning, but Goldey-Beacom starter Anthony DiMartino and reliever Karl Schmidt kept the Marauders off the board for the next five innings.
After the Marauders tallied three hits in the first, DiMartino allowed just one more hit and three total bases runners through the fifth. He handed the ball to Schmidt, who picked up the save after two innings of work. With the Marauders trailing 4-1 in seventh, Cole Houser hit a leadoff home run, but Schmidt struck out the side to end it.
Jimmy Losh accounted for two of Millersville's five hits. Freshman Matt Seibert pitched 3 2/3 innings in his start, allowing two runs on two walks and a hit.

Millersville's March 7 games against Clarion have been moved to Cooper Park. The teams will play at single nine-inning game.
