DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Millersville University's Tyler Tate spent three seasons dominated on the defensive line, and in December, Tate showcased his abilities in front of pro scouts at the FCS Bowl in Daytona Beach.
Tate was named the game's MVP after recording two sacks and breaking up a pass. Of the nine players to earn award recognition in the game, Tate was one of only two from the Division II ranks. He was a two-time All-PSAC East First Team selection and recorded 17 1/2 sacks over his final two seasons, serving as a team captain twice.
The FCS Bowl was created in 2014, featuring prospects from the FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA ranks. Fellow Marauder Christan Drayton III also participated in the game. Drayton caught one pass for 11 yards and returned a kickoff for 25 yards.
