MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville University head football coach Drew Folmar has announced the addition of four assistants to his first coaching staff. Rod White Jr., will coach the safeties and special teams. Malik Jordan has been named the defensive line coach. E.J. Sutton joins as the running backs coach. Darryl Pollard takes over as the cornerbacks coach.
Folmar's four newest coaches bring youth, energy and a background of being a part of successful programs. Jordan most recently helped Wingate to the NCAA Playoffs as the defensive line coach. Sutton and Pollard helped Lock Haven to its best regular season in more than 40 years. White comes to Millersville after serving as the co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at Bowie State.
White spent five seasons at Bowie State, producing six All-CIAA selections. He served as the co-special teams coordinator and defensive passing game coordinator at Stevenson for three years and held the same defensive role at Bluefield State, where he helped the team rank No. 1 in the country in passing yards allowed and No. 2 in passing efficiency defense. White started his career at Virginia-Wise after graduating from West Liberty in 2013.
"Rod is a great person who comes highly recommended," said Folmar. "He was impressive throughout the interview process in his knowledge of the game and his passion for teaching and developing young men. His experience developing DB's, working with special teams, and recruiting the Mid-Atlantic region will be a major asset to our program."
Jordan joins the Millersville staff after serving as a graduate assistant coaching the defensive line for his alma mater, Wingate. Three of his defensive linemen earned All-SAC honors, and he coached the SAC Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2025.
"Malik is a good young coach that grew up in a football coaching family," said Folmar. "He has a grasp on the technique and fundamentals of defensive line play. He is high energy and will do a great job developing that group."
Sutton, a graduate of Lock Haven, spent the last two seasons at his alma mater coaching the running backs. In 2025, he coached Damir Green to All-PSAC East honors.
"E.J. is a coach with a bright future and he will do a great job mentoring our running backs," said Folmar. "He knows first-hand what it takes to be a successful running back, and he was able to communicate that very well during the interview."
Pollard most recently served as a graduate assistant working with the defensive backs at his alma mater, Lock Haven. He started 41 games and was a team captain as a player at Lock Haven.
"Darryl is an energetic coach that was an accomplished defensive back at Lock Haven," said Folmar. "His knowledge and teaching style were impressive when we interviewed him. He is from southeast Pennsylvania, which will be an asset in recruiting, as well."
White, Jordan and Pollard join new defensive coordinator Ron Rankin on a fully revamped defensive staff. The offensive staff include Folmar, who will coach the quarterbacks, and Sutton, as well as the returning Brian Ferguson, who served as the interim head coach for the second half of 2025, and offensive line coach Brad Shaeffer. Millersville's spring practice begins on March 24 and runs through April 25.
